Paul Ricard: 04.10.2024 - 06.10.2024
Paul Ricard weekend recap
Practice:
From the very start of the weekend, my pace was strong and consistent. In every practice session, I was comfortably within the top 8, showing excellent speed both on fresh and used tires. The car felt great, and I was confident going into qualifying, knowing we had the pace to fight at the front. The practice sessions gave me the foundation to build upon, and I entered the rest of the weekend with high expectations and momentum.
Qualifying: P8 / P3 / P6
Heading into the last qualifying of the year, I knew it was all about execution. I kept calm, focused, and strung together two solid laps that placed me P8 for Race 1, P3 for Race 2, and P6 for Race 3. It was one of my strongest qualifying performances of the season — exactly when it mattered most.
Race One: P7
A strong launch off the line saw me jump two positions immediately. I was pushing hard, closing in on the cars ahead, when contact from behind forced me off track. I lost momentum and positions but dug deep to recover and finish P7, salvaging solid points and setting the tone for the weekend.
Race Two: P2 🥈
Another lightning start from P3, but I quickly got boxed in behind the lead battle. Just as I was setting up a move, I was hit and my front wing was damaged. Despite that, I stayed composed and didn’t let the pressure break my focus. After the safety car restart, I made a bold move around the outside of Turn 1 with the broken wing and held strong to finish P2 — my first podium in French F4. A moment I’ll never forget!
Race Three: P1 🥇
On a wet and shortened track, we started behind the safety car. When the green flag dropped, I was on rails — moving up to P5 by Turn 2 and charging into P2 by the end of Lap 2. A few corners later, I took the lead and began to pull away, opening up a 12-second gap before crossing the line in P1.
A post-race penalty initially put my win in doubt, but after a tense wait, another driver’s penalty reinstated my victory— making me the winner of the final race of the season. A truly incredible way to close the year.
Broken front wing? No problem.
